2 Year Blog Anniversary!
Oh. My. Goodness. I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since I decided to write a blog post and start posting random fashion tips on Instagram! Here I am two years later… and so much has changed. My style has definitely evolved. For the better! I also think that moving out of the south has contributed to that - Georgia was very preppy & southern and DC has more of a sophisticated vibe to it. I also feel like my whole “vibe” online has changed. Let’s take a look back…
When I first started, I had no idea what I was doing, but I loved editing in VSCO clearly.
When “presets” got huge, and I thought I had to have them in order to be relevant. But I always hated the way my pictures were edited…
I finally stopped using presets and I started feeling more like ME when I posted, and I loved it!
Today’s feed. All neutrals (mainly because it’s winter and it’s sad - but this feed makes me happy AF), and it’s 100% me.
So a little more to why I posted the above screenshots: it took me a long time to find my “niche” for this blog. It took me a long time to figure out how I actually want to edit my photos. It took me a long time to find what I LOVE about blogging! Everything takes time.
One of other favorite parts of my blog? All the wonderful people I have met. I have become close with SO many girls through this platform - how awesome is that? Not just “internet” friends, but friends that I considered very close. I travel with them all the time! I cannot believe how lucky I got.
Have I thought about quitting about 93489 times? Yes. But I always stuck to it. It’s my creative outlet, my side hustle, what makes me happy, etc. I love photography, design, art direction, website design, interior design, cooking, shopping, and more; this blog is basically all of that in one.
It took me 2 years to finally get to 10,000 followers. In the blogging world - this is huge. It’s a big milestone, and people recognize it, which is awesome! You get “swipe ups”, more brands want to work with you, it’s just cool altogether. I am SO SO thankful for everyone who has supported me along the way. There are so many ways to show support - commenting/liking a photo, reading a blog post, buying an item with my link, tagging people who would be interested, sharing my page, etc. If you are one of these people… THANK YOU! I could not be here without you.
Some awesome brands I have worked with since I started in January 2018: Dior, Neutrogena, Lucky Brand, Reebok, Mejuri, Bumble, Lindt Chocolate (LOL), Briogeo, Missguided, La Colombe, True Botanicals, Showpo, Beachwaver, Coola, Fujifulm, Winc, Rent The Runway - AND SO MANY MORE! I am truly blessed to have these brands want to work with me - especially since I am a “micro” blogger (aka any blogger under 25k).
So, what’s next for my blog? I am going to continue doing what I have been doing - but post more consistently. Post more on here, on my Instagram, my Facebook, all of it! I would like to reach 20,000 followers by the end of the year. Work with more brands. Attend more events. Network. Work on my secret project I have been dreaming about. Travel. Save. All of it!
