AKA: The story of how I scored Instagram’s most popular $1,500 mirror for only $310.

Me and my friend Sayeh saw a Tik-Tok go viral about a store in Pennsylvania called “Final Cut”. It’s a warehouse sale for URBN - the company that owns Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters & Free people. I knew about the Final Cut Augusta store when I lived in Georgia, but I never went (*biggest regret). So anyways, the store had been closed for months because of COVID. It was finally opening back up on June 12. We planned every last second - because our main goal was to score a Primrose Mirror. Me and Sayeh got our boys, took off the Friday of the sale, and drove to Indiana on Thursday night.

We stayed at a Holiday Inn about a mile away from the sale. It was about $80/night! Not bad. We had not rented a U-Haul at this point - we didn’t want to incase we could not get the mirror. We researched and a lot of U-Hauls were available around us so we figured if we could get in there and get what we wanted, we’d run over and rent a truck. A lot of people already came with one, or brought trailers from home, so do whatever feels right!

The morning of the sale, we all woke up around 7am, got ready, and headed over to the sale. We got there around 8am. We had lawn chairs, and the boys went to grab us Starbucks for coffee & breakfast. We thought we were super early, but we were about the 55th people in line! They were only letting the first 75 people in because of COVID restrictions, so we got super lucky.

Since the mirrors were the most popular thing they were selling (literally they were getting 1,000s of messages about it on Instagram) - they made tickets for the mirrors and walked down from the front of the line to hand them out to people buying them. Me and Sayeh got the last 2 tickets!!!!! I couldn’t believe it. We both got the 7 foot gold mirrors. It was a miracle. We instantly called the boys and said we would need a U-Haul (bless them).

10am was approaching (the sale opening) so we packed up our chairs and put them in the car preparing for it to open. Also very important: you need sticky notes to claim items. We had colored sticky notes & pens - I wrote my name on about 20 notes and prepared to stick them on what I wanted. This is how you “claim” the item. This worked for me, but my friend had one of her items taken (someone took the note off and bought it themselves). The workers recognized what was going on and how it wasn’t efficient - I talked to them on Instagram recently and they said they are no longer using this system: so not sure what it will look like at the next sale.

I’m not gonna lie - it was a little chaotic. The sticky note system gave me anxiety because I kept thinking people were stealing my items. It was hot as hell. We still didn’t have a U-Haul. The bathrooms were out of order (I had to run to Walmart in the middle of the sale, but the workers said I could get back in because there were 1,000s of people outside in line!). The checkout machines started to break and only one was working - so the line was VERY long.

But was it worth it? Yes. I got my mirror. And a few other awesome pieces! The workers were extremely nice & friendly which made it all better. The U-Haul took some time to get, so we were there for longer than I wanted to be. But within the first 30 minutes, I had already gone through the whole sale and claimed what I wanted. We eventually checked out, started bringing our items outside (they also had people specifically there for helping move items), packed up the U-Haul, and started driving home!

My mirror is beautiful, but I went through a lot to get it. It is EXTREMELY heavy, and moving it to my apartment about gave me a heart attack because I didn’t want it to break. But we made it! If you are trying to furnish your house, I recommend this sale. But come prepared, or you’ll miss out.

Things to know:

They limited capacity and required masks because of COVID.
The bathrooms were out of order - not sure if they have been fixed, but make sure to go before you stand in line!
The sale is not open every day, or every weekend. Please check their Instagram to find out each time they have a sale. The warehouse is all returned items/old items/damaged items. So they gather items for a few months & then have a big sale! The next sale is August 14 & 15.
They do not hold items or ship.
Doors open at 10am. I recommend getting there around 8 or earlier if you have a specific item in mind that you want.
They not package any items - make sure you have things to protect your items when loading them onto a truck or U-Haul. We got a bunch of the blankets from U-Haul and some tie down straps to secure the items.
They do not take cash - card only.
To claim items and continue shopping, you need sticky notes & a pen to write your name down.
To check out, you grab all the price tags off the items and go to the check out with them.
This location only has furniture - no home items, clothing, or accessories.
They bring out different things on different days of the sale, so if you come the second day, there may be different items.
Prepare to stand in line. Bring water, snacks, a chair, a hat, etc.
Be patient! It was a little hectic but so worth it!
