What is the anniversary sale?
“Our biggest fashion event of the year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, will be July 19 through August 4, 2019. This event has become legendary among Nordstrom customers for outstanding savings on the most exciting new fall merchandise, along with plenty of stuff for summer.” - Nordstrom
The Anniversary Sale is known as the retailer’s “biggest fashion event of the year.” The sale was so popular last year that it crashed the website. The sale features new fall merchandise, beauty exclusives, and home decor in honor of the retailer’s founding in 1901. Brand new items go for as high as 75% off. The Anniversary sale doesn’t require a coupon code, there will be a or section for all the sale items for your viewing. There are 1,000’s of items on sale most of them are great quality and amazing! It is a little overrated…but if you need some fall boots or a new coat, now is your time.
Tips for shopping the sale:
I always make a folder on my computer called “NSALE” and save all my “must have” items there. You can shop the sale early and find the items you like. Then when the sale opens, I buy the items I have been lusting over.
Look for “closet staples”, and stay away from fast fashion pieces that will be out of style in a month. This is the time to buy those amazing black boots and beige coat you need for fall.
Search your favorite brand and all there new arrivals on the sale (mine are Topshop, Free People, Zella, Dolce Vita).
Open a credit card or join the Nordy Club for early access!
If you like an item, buy it ASAP. A lot of popular pieces sell out fast, and they don’t always restock. You can always return it if you change your mind.

Should I get the credit card?
If you shop at Nordstrom often - or even every year for the sale; my answer is YES! I have one and it’s the only store card I have. It’s worth it for the sale, and you can get “Nordstrom notes”, aka free cash; with every 2,000 points. I buy all my staples from Nordstrom so I find having the credit card 100% worth it. I always pay it off immediately so there is no balance on my card. This year Nordstrom is offering a $60 Nordstrom note towards your first purchase if you open a credit card. This is more than they have ever offered and such a great deal!
Nordstrom announced the “Nordy Club” earlier this year, so now you can get early access to the sale without the credit card. It’s free and you just sign up online! This club has most of the perks that the credit card does. I recommend this if you do not like opening credit cards.
What should I buy during the sale?
I always this the anniversary sale as a time to stock up on the essentials (aka items I wear over and over again). Leggings, jeans, jackets, boots, purses. Those are my main go-to’s when searching the sale. You can get great quality items on sale and in preparation for the fall season! This year, I am looking for boots specifically. I want all the boots, over-the-knee, bootie, mid-calf, you name it! They do have summer items on sale but I usually stay away from that section because the fall sale items are the best deal. When shopping, think about closet staples and what will last longer.

Zella High Rise Leggings
These are my FAVORITE leggings. EVER! I own them in black, navy & green. They do not roll down, are amazing quality, and suck you in. I work out in these, wear these out, wear them to work. You name it. I own Lululemon leggings and still prefer these bad boys.
Champion Cropped Sweatshirt
The quality of this sweatshirt is amazing, and in winter sometimes you want a cropped sweatshirt but also need to stay warm. This also comes in white and I need both!
BLANKNYC Leather Jacket
I have been looking for a new leather jacket for years… I threw away the one I used to own in college last year because it literally had holes in it. This one is so chic and it also comes in a tan color!
Steve Madden Jillian Bootie
This is the perfect neutral bootie for winter. It will go with everything. I always buy a tan bootie every fall and I end up wearing it so much, I need a new one by next year. This is under $100 and so cute!

If you follow me on Instagram you know I am OBSESSED with my Barefoot Dreams robe. I want to live in it every day. It is amazing. Idk how to explain the softness of this brand, but you need this blanket. Plus, it’ll look cute draped over your couch.

I know I keep repeating myself… but this is the perfect time to buy neutrals and fall staples. I can see myself wearing this SO much this upcoming fall/winter. It will go with everything! And, it looks soft AF.

I am OBSESSED with this candle. And this is “jumbo”, aka it’s 48oz. That means it will take forever for it to run out. It’s also $30 off which is a huge bargain, and it makes a perfect gift! *hint hint someone get this for me*
